Pregnancy Week 25 - Energy!!!! and no CFS symptoms

I woke up yesterday morning and felt pretty good. I had a shower which normally saps my energy, but I actually felt good. I felt so good actually, with no ME/CFS symptoms at all. I can't remember the last time I didn't have brain fog, but it must be years.

I felt so normal, I had to ring my husband at work straight away and starting balling my eyes out in happiness - think that might be some pregnancy hormones talking LOL.

I decided to make the most of it and got my Mum to take me shopping to buy some of the things we need for the hospital and nursery. When I got home I was tired, but a normal tiredness rather than 'crappy tiredness'.

I have also managed to contact a researcher who is interested in my case study, so will start discussions next week.

Here are some articles I have found that helped me:

This is a long video but well worth watching.

Amazing! That does tell us something doesn't it?

Dr. Peterson and Bond University that in Australia are looking at whether the genes involved in gestation (pregnancy) are differently expressed in ME/CFS - because of reports just like yours. Preliminary results suggest that they are....and this could provide a clue why ME/CFS occurs.

Good luck with your pregnancy. thanks for the posts.

Thanks Cort,

I wonder too if the increase in blood volume helps push the blood to the brain which helps with the brain fog.

Bond University is the research organisation that I have contacted and they have expressed interest so hopefully I can give them data that they can use.

Allyann,

I'm so happy for you!
It's great to have a break from feeling lousy! Enjoy every minute of it.
It's a strange thing with pregnancy and illness.
When I was younger, I suffered from Crohn's disease and each time I was pregnant, it went into remission during my pregnancies.

Interesting, I remember reading that the immune system is toned down a bit to allow the mother to keep the baby during the pregnancy instead of rejecting it.

My guess is that the bugs are still there but the immune system isn't going after them as hard as they usually do, thus less symptoms.

Congrats on the pregnancy!
