OMG I feel sick

This doesn't really fit anywhere so I will chuck it here.

Sunday night I came down with what seems to be a hideous dose of influenza. Fever, chills, cough, asthma, headache, blocked nose, sore glands/tonsils, sore organs, sore eye sockets, nausea etc. My feet and legs feel like they belong to someone else and my feet are almost floppy. This morning I woke up and felt like a stampede of elephants had run over my chest and stomach and hurts like hell to cough.

I feel so unbelievably sick. I'm not sure if I should attempt to go to the doctors who is bloody hard to get into, pretty useless and half an hour away, or if I should ride it out and hope I don't drop off my perch.

sounds like it could be a seizure of some sort or blood pressure issues. I would suggest it would be better to just go to hospital emergency department rather then gp, hospital can also refer you onto the right docs hopefully. GPs i think a really only good for prescriptions, unless they have had alot of previous hospital experience in the particular field, otherwise they are also just a referal system.

cheers!!

Tulip I agree with heaps, you need to get seen by a doc, 'hurts to cough' sounds like an infection, I don't know where you are but there has been a lot of pneumonia about here, and if you live on your own definitely get checked out asap please, if you don't want to go to hospital call the your GP to make a home visit.

Thanks

Saw a gp, but not mine and got the all clear on pneumonia. I didn't go to emergency as being in the country the range of specialists here is pathetic, we don't even have a neuro here. I woiuld have just had to see some 20 something, 2 year post grad doc, who knows even less than your average gp.
