I have been trying to get an answer to this question for some time. What, if any, is the difference between Orthostatic Intolerance and POTS? I’ve searched the medical sites online, read the medical definitions, “asked the experts”—some state the two are the same, others that the two disorders are different. I am totally confused.

POTS is also OI but not all OI is POTS . There are many forms of OI.

The different types of OI are defined in different ways. For POTS to be diagnosed your heart rate needs to be increasing a certain amount on standing. Look up how POTS is tested. (you can also do a poor mans POTS test at home which can also accurately diagnose POTS just as well as tilt table tests).
