I would be kickboxing again at the gym, taking vacations with all the money I made (instead of lost) over the years, and raising the 2-3 kids that I originally planned on having before illness took over.

It's hard to think about all these losses sometimes, but they are a reality for so many of us. If nothing else, chronic illness has given me so much empathy and compassion - even for those not in the same situation as me - I have new "eyes" and a renewed zeal to make good use of my time and the energy I do have!

- Have a boyfriend and fall in love.
- Have friends.
- Live in Japan or abroad somewhere for at least a few years
- Start an business that can improve people's quality of life.

Some of these I still have a chance to do in the future. I've given up on friends though.
