Can You Come for a Visit? My ME/CFS Says No
My daughter and son-in-law just had a baby last week. We are thrilled. But we won't be able to see the baby or hold her any time soon. We won't be able to take over little gifts or help out with housework or babysitting.

Well just found one impact I did not anticipate. If anyone is using pubmed you will see this message displayed at the top. Too dang much is under the control of the govy IMHO.

Due to the lapse in government funding, PubMed is being maintained with minimal staffing. Information will be updated to the extent possible, and the agency will attempt to respond to urgent operational inquiries.

Basically I think this means PubMed will continue operating, but there will be minimal updates until funding resumes.

Also experimental treatment for cancer victims who have run out of options. Disgusting IMHO.
