UK University research subsidies cut

    There was another post about how Dr. John Kerr's position had been cut due to general funding cuts in the UK. While I am not certain why Dr. Kerr's work on XMRV was stopped, there was a general article recently about heavy cuts to UK universities, affecting both research and teaching, in the NY Times:

    EVERYTHING's being cut in the UK. It looks like a pretty horrifying situation.

    Yes, it's a terrible situation. We're told that university science funding will be to some extent protected though. Remains to be seen.
