I was reading in the thread "Florinef: your review? And, isn't it a steroid = not good for immune ?" (I miss giving links) that we're supposed to start low. In this thread people were starting at .025 for 2 weeks then increasing another .025 if they were ok.

I was probably told to do this and just forgot. Doh ! I started at .05 for 2 days then bumped it to .075 for the last 3 days.

.05 didn't do anything and .075 seems to help me get moving but maybe too much. Also the effects, less OI feeling, wears off within a few hours.

I went back down to .05 this morning and have that jittery feeling again. I've been lying down for 20 minutes now to see if it helps but it hasn't stopped yet.

My bp is appr 20 -30 pts higher than normal and ranging between 128-133/78-80.

My heartrate is only 64-68. I thought my jittery feeling was related to a higher hr and was expecting it to be about 110. That was shocking and may actually be inaccurate if I'm skipping beats. Based on recent doctors visits I just started skipping beats about 6 months ago. But who knows. It never crossed my mind to ask.

I'm not sure what to make of the rash (it resembles a heat rash - itchy with blisters). Maybe it's a reaction to ingredients in the florinef tablet ? I used to get that rash frequently years ago but never knew why. It drove me nuts for a few days then went away on it's own. Maybe female hormones ? I'm post menopausal now and haven't had that rash for several years which would mean that rash was hormonal. The side effect pages on the web reference hormonal changes.

Moving onwards .... X

Eta. Thankfully this jittery feeling isn't the same as my pre-seizure jittery feeling. The only way I know how to describe the difference is that my thought process is my normal slow. Lol.

Eta. 10:45 am. Bp 116/82 hr 100 after eating. Felt like I had to lie down. Petite mal, sob and feeling weak. So at least my bp went down.

Eta. 7:40pm. Bp 120/80, hr 68. Still higher than normal. The jittery feeling subsided around 2 pm.

Eta. 10:40pm. Bp 120/80, hr 60. Bp still higher than normal. Can't decide if I want to stay at .05 mg.

Eta. 6am. Bp 120/80, hr 75. Upon waking. I have a slight headache. I'm going to take .025 mg this morning and .025 this afternoon. That way I keep the dose up to .05 but spread it out. I don't want to back track since higher bp is a positive sign.

My bp is 145/85 now before taking florinef. Yikes. It's normally 90-100/70 if I continuously salt load. Lower if I don't salt load. Hr still in 70s so that's good.

I'm not going to take florinef today until it gets back into at least the 120 range. But hopefully I can take it again by this afternoon or evening.

So much for taking too much too soon. Doh !

I was wondering too what pathogens might be killed with this increase in sodium throughout my body. I knew about Lyme but after very little googling saw parasites too. I'm going to start using Himalayan sea salt and celtic salt to get the most out of this. Seaweed would be a good idea too.

I've used mag citrate for chronic constipation since 2006. Prior to that I took whatever toxic garbage my doctor recommended. It will be interesting to see if that changes too.

Wish me luck. X

Eta. 2:45pm. Bp 131/80 hr 73. Much better. It was around 148-150 / 90-100 for most of the morning. Ya know. I didn't feel as bad upright at that high bp as I do from oh and pots.

Eta 11:50 pm. Bp 118 / 72 hr 63. Finally almost back to normal. No florinef today. Will start with .025 tomorrow morning.

12/8/14
Eta. 6:40 am. Bp 120/78 hr 67. Bp still a little higher than normal. Have a slight pressure headache.

It's interesting that the racing feeling in my chest that I'm getting from this is the same as I get from caffeine. My brain isn't affected like it is from caffeine tho. (I use Caffeine pills. Coffee and tea make me feel too jittery and sick)

Eta. 10:45 am. Took .025 at 10:15. Bp now 140 / 88 hr 67. Fun fun.

Eta. 12:20 pm. Bp 148 / 88. Hr 68. Tylenol + appr 25 mg caffeine helped headache. Can't wait for this part to stop.

Eta. 2:00 pm. Bp 124 / 80 hr 63. Yay!

Eta. 5:00 pm. Bp 140 / 84. Hr 63. Either I need a new cuff or I'm getting used to this. I thought it was in the 120 range.

Eta. 7 pm. Bp. 122 / 76. Hr 61. Much better. Will stick with .025 for awhile and watch bp for change.

12/9/14

I stayed in the 120 range all morning. Yay. After yesterday I wanted to make sure my bp didn't reach 140+ again before taking more. Since I've stabilized at 120ish, I'm going to take .025 now. With salt and smart water.

2:30 pm. Bp 127 / 80 hr 67.

7:10 pm. Bp 105 / 64 Hr 71. ☺

I'm still playing with this. My bp has been low throughout most of this illness. So since 1990 ... At times medical professionals couldn't find it and had to keep trying.

Yesterday morning upon waking my bp hr monitor showed my bp 168 / 100 so I skipped taking this completely. I ate breakfast and then rested in bed for several hours until it went down to the 130 range.

I monitored it throughout the day and it stayed around 130. I actually felt ok and did laundry.

This morning my Bp is a little higher than normal at 125 / 80 hr 64. If it stays in the 120-130 range I'll try more Florinef later today.

Fwiw, based on my reaction, I'd advise anyone trying this to monitor your bp and hr.

Tc ... x

Eta. 9 am. Bp 125 / 82 Hr. 85. Post breakfast. Hr is up from oi.

11:00 am. Bp 116 / 77. Hr 68. Yay! No more big spikes. Taking .0125 mg florinef now.

11:45 Bp. 117 / 78 Hr. 64. Yay. So far so good.

I'm taking 1 dextrose tablet (chronic hypoglycemia) with this now too and feel better. ☺

Eta. 6pm. Bp 126 / 81. Hr 60. The .0125 mg worked great. No spikes. No jittery feelings. Steady bp @120 range.

Eta. 12/12 - 9:40 am 116 73 67, 1:30 pm. Bp 124 / 72. Hr 82. I've stabilized. ☺ Using .0125 for now.

Eta. 12/13. Stayed within normal range all day. ☺

Eta 12/14 Bp 100 / 77 Hr. 108 . Potsie (aka feeling like crap from petite mal, tachycardia and sob.) Taken while still standing after being upright for making breakfast, eating, then doing a few dishes. Was upright for appr 20 -30 minutes. I hate pots.

Resting Bp is back to normal as of Saturday. Mostly @ 116-118 but can go up to 126-130 momentarily. Hr stays in 63-73 range.

Having some depression but it could just be holiday related.

Having insomnia. Waking up at 3-4 am. Only slept 4 hrs Fri nite. I wised up and took tiny bites of melatonin and 5htp at 4 am Sun morning. ☺

Eta 12/15 Bp appr 116 - 125 / 80 Hr 65ish all day. Except for 1 -100/70 . Possibly from not sleeping. Having depression + crying spells (just like peri menopause) but plan to tough it out. 5htp isn't helping. Fun fun.

Eta 12/16. 9:45 am. Bp 128/77 Hr. 74. I just doubled florinef to .025. Hoping to see an improvement in oi.
