The Real ME: A Stock Photography Resource for the Media
We’ve all seen them in the news stories about ME/CFS: the guy in a suit at the office, yawning; the beautiful woman sitting at her desk with her immaculate make-up and elegantly coiffed hair, hand to her head and looking slightly pained.

Yes, god forbid you actually address the technical critiques, let's just stick to fancy talk of cruise ships.

The usual gibberish. Prof Wessely does love his storymaking, and narrative tricks.

Also posted a simple question of whether he approves of the weird fatigue/physical function thresholds.

I'd be amazed if either comment makes it through moderation.

Very damaging article written on a widely read website in UK mental health circles. None of the substantive issues were addressed in any way.

Total lie/fabrication. The information in the Appendix rejects this hypothesis. Those who received no CBT/GET had the same amount of improvement during the follow-up.

The only reason this isn't clear is that no one is interested in the obvious: because patients improve a bit over time and CBT/GET don't make any real difference. Is there another trial where that wouldn't be the obvious conclusion?

So, write a damaging article, then invite critics to disagree. How very reasonable that makes Prof Wessely sound.
But the damage is already done in the high profile article.

Good comment @Sasha! It made it!

Now I hope Prof JE is able to seize the day and take on Sir Simon.
