Yikes! I was scheduled for a colonoscopy Friday but I chickened out. Is this a rarity?
Don't be too concerned, it's a fairly rare occurrence and mine only perforated because I have had years of undiagnosed intestinal ischemia which itself is said to be fairly rare. The risk is highest in the elderly population but in general, the figure I was quoted I think was only in the range of about 1% of procedures.
