Symptoms - Regional Sympathetic Dystrophy Symptoms

    Characteristic signs and symptoms of sympathetic nervous system involvement include the following:

    • Burning pain
    • Extreme sensitivity to touch
    • Skin color changes (red or bluish)
    • Skin temperature changes (hot or cold)
    • Pain caused by RSD/CRPS usually in not proportionate to the degree of injury. It can be triggered by disuse of the affected limb or by stress and can be spontaneous or constant.

    Symptoms associated with an immune reaction include:

    • Joint pain
    • Redness
    • Swelling (edema)
    • Frequent infections

    Motor system dysfunction

    • Difficulty starting movement
    • Increased muscle tone, stiffness
    • Muscle spasm
    • Tremor
    • Weakness

    how about twitching (fasciculations)? and pins and needles (parathesiae)? Not sure which category they come under - something with the nerves, i imagine.

    If we think things should be added, do we add them here?

    A few of us in the UK have been diagnosed with Paroxysmal Dyskinesias so that should be added.

    Also Dystonia is reported.

    Intention tremor as well as tremor.

    Ataxia

    I agree that clumsiness and pins and needles should be added too.

    Does a positive rhomberg (falling when the eyes are shut) fit here?

    These all fit in symptoms, for sure. Can you check in the main symptom page and see if they are there? I think I may have put Romberg's in there.

    I got RSD of the hand after a fall. I had fingernail changes as well.

    It'll be interesting to see how often it shows up in the co morbid conditions. I remember Dr. DeFreitas had it.
