today's news: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/sussex/8454280.stm "The mother of a prominent ME sufferer has gone on trial accused of attempting to murder her seriously ill daughter. Bridget Kathleen Gilderdale, 55, of Stonegate, near Heathfield, Sussex, denies the charge. Ms Gilderdale pleaded guilty to a charge of aiding and abetting suicide at Lewes Crown Court in July 2009. She was arrested after her daughter Lynn, 31, who had chronic fatigue syndrome, was found dead at their home on 4 December 2008." The offences are alleged to have taken place between 2 December and 4 December 2008. Relatives said Lynn Gilderdale battled ME for 17 years and was left paralysed by the illness. After Ms Gilderdale was charged, her family said she retained their "unconditional support".
