I assume this study had to pass some kind of ethics review, but giving Cipro to people who are not ill seems questionable to me.

I agree! Who signs up to take antibiotics as a healthy? Especially hardcore ones like Cipro?

Some gut bacteria can be permanently wiped out after antibiotic use - not just short term for a couple of months.

All this shows how important it is to use probiotics and antifungals while on antibiotics .

At the moment the bacteria in my sinuses are alot more disabling than killing bacteria in my gut.

Have to weigh up the pros and cons as well as take preventative measures etc
