    It seems strange that they would say the reason for the body attacking itself remains a mystery when the information in this article has been out since 2013, and makes a lot more sense than biofilm.

    @Violeta...............the article you linked got me to thinking about the possibility of the reason my daughter developed Graves disease............she had EBV which she recovered from but I bet you anything it led to her thyroid problems. After googling.................there does indeed seem to be a correlation..............I had no idea! With the Graves she also had enlarged lymph nodes..................EBV? Thank you for that link..................Although her Graves is under control I feel like this info will give her more tools to work with if it ever becomes a problem again.

    You're welcome, Tammy, I'm glad it was helpful. And yes, I've seen other information about EBV and the thyroid. That's so great that you put that together. Yeah, it helps to keep the virus under control. When I feel a little better I let up and the pain comes back. Yesterday I was hurting and made a covenant with myself to take some antiviral herbal every day.
