Red hot sunburn sensation

This morning I woke feeling my usual "normal" and then my head started feeling very hot, my face was red and then it quickly went down my neck, chest, arms, legs and feet! I looked as though I was sunburned or scalded by hot hot water. This lasted for 40 minutes. I started to panic but I did not have a fever, no sweating or any other unusual symptoms.

I am entering menopause but this did not feel like a hot flash. My skin just felt very hot. My skin is still warm to the touch but the redness is gone.

Has anyone experienced this or have any idea what this could be? A virus? thanks.
