Recommendation for ME/CFS specialist in San Francisco Bay Area

Hi All,

I've had ME since 1996. I haven't seen a doctor who specializes in this illness since early 2002 when he sent me to a Psychiatrist to investigate the psychological reasons for my illness!! I was furious. I'm ready to talk to a reasonable physician again. Any recommendations?

Dr. Montoya at Stanford and Dr. Kogelnik in Mountain View are both prominent cfs physicians. They will take you seriously.

Thank you. I've looked into them; Dr. Montoya has a 3 to 4 year wait. Dr. Kogelnik has been described on these pages as focused on using drugs to treat infection/virus side of ME. I'm not interested in using the drugs he's using even though I fit the criteria for this treatment. Are there any other docs in the area that you'd recommend? Dr. Michael Powell runs the Fibromyalgia Treatment Clinic in Sacramento, and he helped me fully recover. The drive is about 1 1/2hrs but you can taper off on visits when treatment starts.
