New Regius professorships announced for 12 universities

Twelve “outstanding” university departments are set to receive Regius professorships to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee last year, the Cabinet Office has announced.

January 29, 2013

The award increases the number of institutions to hold such positions from the seven to 19 and follows a competitive application process launched in October.

Four of the positions will be in London: in engineering at Imperial College London, in economics at the London Schools of Economics and Political Science, in music at Royal Holloway, University of London, and in psychiatry at King’s College London.

Was announced for queens birthday and universities had from 2012 to 2015 to apply for regius.

Oliver Letwin MP advised the queen. This is one of our members local MP @trishrhymes.

Big thanks to @Keith Geraghty  for challenging him.

You or someone may wish to use #pacetrial with all these great tweets so they get much wider audience.

Where is the media in this."Rich professor knighted and made Regius by Queen for two decades falsehood on ME to deny sick benefits"

I'm surprised the Establishment isn't getting a bit nervous of Wessely. Shows that they think they can win on PACE and we've got a lot more work to do.

Given that The Establishment actually listened to a senile surfing enthusiast when he told them that teh BPS Model is going to set the world on fire, this should come as no surprise to anyone. ;)

How can some people get away with it all?

Sir Simon got knighted despite all the serious concerns and gets prizes.

Sir Jimmy Saville was also knighted by the queen despite all the concerns that he was a predatory paedophile.

I saw this new documentary a few nights ago on the BBC by Louis Theroux who did the original documentary on Saville in 2000. You must watch it.

It seems some people can just get away with it.

One day another Jimmy Savile may come along and he too may appear plausible - right up until the moment he is unmasked.

A human being did Savile's crimes - one who charmed princes, prime ministers, leading religious figures and celebrities, not to mention the millions of people who listened to him on the radio and watched him on television.

A human being who was intelligent, sometimes amusing, and likeable, and who, by being those things, was able to fool a nation.

I'm the unfortunate who has Oliver Letwin as my MP. I'm not at all surprised that it was he who recommended this promotion. See my letter to him recently about the NICE guidelines and his reply in my PR blog. I don't have the energy to take the fight any further. http://forums.phoenixrising.me/index.php?entries/letter-to-my-mp-about-magenta-and-nice.2014/

I am beyond disgusted by Wessley.

I think he's the Lord Voldemort behind all the others - White, Chalder etc, pulling the strings, creating chaos for patients, then walking away just in time before the shit hits the fan every time.
