Hello, I live in Florida and was a patient of Doctor Lerner (I was devastated when he passed away). I was on Valtrex (which helped me a lot) and we were about to begin Lyme treatment.

I really would appreciate if anyone knows of a doctor in Florida, the South, or in the East coast who prescribes Valtrex/Valcite.

The institute of Neuro Immune Medicine at Nova Southeastern University is not accepting new patient, so I would really appreciate any help.

Thank you to all the great people in this community.

I'm sorry to hear this. I hope you got on a waiting list, at least. There are not enough ME/CFS specialists around. And we just lost a great one. :(

Dr. Laura Black is at the Hunter Hopkins Center in Charlotte and prescribes antivirals etc.
Thank you so much for replying to my post. I have found several doctors in Florida, but believe me if I don't like any of them, I will be making an appointment with doctor Black. Charlotte is certainly closer and more convenient for me than going to Michigan to see doctor Lerner.
Thank you :)

I saw Dr Black (and Dr Lapp) fairly early in my illness journey. Their treatment plan did not work as well for me as that of other specialists, nevertheless I think they are very good doctors and unquestionably decent caring people. They have some treatment options, like Ampligen, that are only available at a few clinics. I suspect it may be true that their practice is stronger with some subsets of ME/CFS than others.

I could not get antivirals from Drs Lapp and Black although both Dr Lerner and INIM thought AVs should be a first-line treatment in my case. My daughter and I both improved dramatically with AVs.

That was quite a few years ago, however, and Hunter-Hopkins may have changed their thinking about the use of AVs in ME/CFS since then.

Dr. Dantini still practices in Palm Coast and has extensive experience using antivirals with ME/CFS. If you do a Google site search you will find more information. Hope this helps!

Dr. Dantini was also the first I thought of! :) Under his care, I have been rx'ed Valtrex. Very nice & knowledgeable with a great staff. Best of luck!!
