Oxymatrine/Equilibrandt questions

Hello! I'm looking to start Equilibrandt again. I've been off of it for ~3 years, stopping due to pregnancy and nursing.

First, I was planning to just try it for 2-4 months. I will be doing a different treatment this summer and can't be on it, but wanted to take advantage of the next few months to get a boost. But I noticed on the box it said it was to be used for 6+ months. Any opinions on this out there?

Second, after taking my first dose(I start slow with 1/4 pill morning and night, increasing my dose each week over a 7 week period) I noticed it was 2 years expired. Anyone know if this is a strict stop date? Can they go rancid or anything?

Thanks!
