I know it's been discussed before, but the old "culprit" for peptic ulcers was stress and lifestyle/mental stuff.

I found this small (concise) writeup on the CDC mildly interesting:

Of particular note is the "In fact, nearly 90 percent of those with ulcers blame their ulcers on stress or worry, and 60 percent point to diet."

That to me sounds like the handful (sadly more than a handful) of ME victims that have been convinced that mental treatments are the path to healing for them... and lifestyle changes...

Hopefully one day WE will have a little writeup like this on the CDC that explains what ME actually is and that both health providers and patients are slow to get the message...
