Looking Ahead to Change: Little by Little
I don't make New Year's Resolutions. I don't think I ever really did, but the last decade or two would have been enough to stifle that impulse. I've just been too aware that I don't have that much control over what happens in my life.

Buried in the long list of things exercise is said to be good for:

"The overall results of 23 randomized controlled trials showed that exercise most likely improves the symptoms of depression. Five others appear to show that it improves symptoms in patients with chronic fatigue syndrome. In trials, exercise even lessened fatigue in patients who are undergoing therapy for cancer.

What other intervention can claim results like these?"

He doesn't say which studies are the five. I'm guessing PACE and family, though it's hard to say.

Yes, I like what the Upshot tries to do, but they can still be awfully superficial.

Apparently he's a professor of paediatrics. I trust he looks into things a bit more carefully in his own field.

I like the word "appear" in that sentence (top post).... suggests to me they are aware of some doubt about this. :)
