Nutrient IVs

IV Vitamin C and Myers Cocktail IVs have helped me, but I have personally found that I have to do them in conjunction with acupuncture because the IVs give you nutrients, but also work as a detox. If your elimination organs are not working properly, you will get very sick with a build up of toxins after the IVs (I have found this out the hard way). The acupuncture stimulates your organs so they can do their job effectively. IV Vitamin C is also good for viruses.

    ree,

Good to know about the toxin buildup.

I think I've also heard about vitamin B12 being given by IV as being very useful as well.

    HIGH dose vitamin C IV's

Anyone tried doing 75 grams of IV vitamin C? I have taken lower doses a few times in the past but this is a very high dose. You have to start off at 25 grams, then 50 and then finally 75. There is also a blood test I had to take to make sure I could take the higher doses. The 75 gram dose is supposed to wipe out virus' and alot of other pathogens and even Cancer.

I had my first 25gram dose yesterday and felt a little whoozy for a few hours but just rested and drank alot of water. I have also started the Heel homeopathic detox kit to assist the detoxification that the vitamin C can bring on.

The second link is long but gets interesting if you scroll down to "what it does"

I was told by a Cancer patient who was getting IV C next to me (BTW- she has has more energy than I do!) that after her 3rd IV she started having tons of energy and started teaching Aerobics again. She got a port installed and will get IV vitamin C at 75 grams for 21 days.

I know this is not a new concept but I would like to know if anyone has tried this high of a dose for any period of time???

    Thanks,
    Michelle

    Vitamin C IVs

Yes, I have tried them for a long time. I was doing 50 grams of Vitamin C twice a week for about 6 months, then once a week for another year.

I felt sick from them for about 3-4 days. The theory was that it was going to kill my viruses. It didn't work for me. I see Dr. Lerner and all my viruses are still here.

It was interesting. I used to get them with a woman with cancer, too. We became good friends. I just called her today. She was never as sick as I was and could and still can do a lot more than I do. Her cancer is in remission right now, but she has to still get it checked.

While I was there, several cancer patients were getting them. A few of them died while I was there, a total of 3 years. However, some of them are doing well, so it's hard to say.

Sorry, I couldn't be more help.

    Hig dose Iv Vit c

I heard recently from a health professional of a new Vit c.... Lypo- Spheric ... It is supposed to be 10times stonger than a traditional IV, developed by Dr Thomas Levy, a cardiologist who has researched the powers of Vits for years and treated himself and many others.
    Dr. Levy wrote recently:

I found that liposome encapsulated vitamin C, taken orally, was roughly 10 times more effective clinically in resolving infectious diseases than the IVC. Having given thousands of IVCs and taken hundreds myself, this was difficult to comprehend, even though the clinical observation was quite straightforward. I subsequently realized that the liposome gave the ultimate bioavailability: intracellular delivery, including the mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, and even the nucleus 2 to 6 packets daily covers most individuals for most situations

The stuff is not cheap but I think you can just do a big hit job for a couple of months.

Dr Levy talks here www.tomlevymd.com/video/video.html at the Cancer Council meeting. There are more Youtube speeches if you search.

    Iv c

    Thank you for the replies.

Well, at least my doctor sais that if I dont feel some energy increase by the 75 gram dose, we will not continue. He feels that if by the 3rd dose if you arent seeing something, there is no reason to waste money on months worth.

I tried the Lipisome C too in the past. Never saw a difference. My doctor likes both. All that stuff just gets so expensive!

    Hmmmm.....

    Thanks again!

    m1shelle high-dose vit C IV

Thanks for this thread, I am very interested in this.

I've been getting low-dose (25 g) once a week for a few months. I can feel it wear off after about 5 days, by an increase in fungal symptoms, upper spine pain, other pain. These are not covered under any insurance, so I decided to try to lipo-spheric vitamin C. Thanks for the info on that, though I'm sorry to hear you didn't get a noticeable result.

Some of us have heavy metals; I think mine are in the tissues, attached to pathogens, or both. I'm thinking the vitamin C helps me get rid of these, but I do take special fibers to help pull them out of the bowel so they are not re-absorbed. A key thing for me as I have an SNP that affects liver detox of heavy metals. So I don't want to reabsorb them once they get out of the liver, which is already slow for me.

I wonder if these types of issues would affect the success rate of the vitamin C.

Just started lipo-spheric, I got 120 packets for the cost of one IV. I think I may try to work up to 4 a day, once per day, and see if I can replace the IV's. Hope to hear more about these therapies! Thanks,

    Kelly

    more vitamin C

    Hi kelly,

I have had some detox feelings for the last few days. I think that is why the doctor gave me the Heel detox kit. I too have had metal issues and worked on it but I think they are still part of the problem. I also take a product to help absorb the toxins in the colon and move them out. It would probably be a good time to try those colonics ! I wish money were not an issue!

My doctor told me I was not taking enough of the Liposome C at 4 packs a day. He said you have to do like 8. I took it about a year and a half ago and thought 4 a day were supposed to be like the IV's. Maybe the 8 is getting closer to the 75 gram IV's. He also told me the 75 grams made a world of difference even for people who had been doing 50. I dont know how that extra 25 grams would make that big of a difference. I guess I will just see what happens.

I certainly dont expect this to be the magic bullet but I am trying to empty several rounds on this illness!:D

    cleaning out metals

    Hi Michelle,

Love the  you gave me a good laugh there.

What are you taking to pull stuff out? Is it part of the Heel kit? I do love their Traumeel product.

I am taking Jarrow Heavy Metal Detox, just a couple, once a day. Probably not nearly enough.

Good luck and I love your approach.

    Myers Cocktail

Sorry if this is already posted somewhere. I looked under this section and did not see anything by this title.

I had a wicked "flare" up, also have Fibro, and my back was burning up for over a week. Still burning up but has calmed down some. Never experienced something like this before!

Would a Meyer's cocktail help this out? Still having headaches but the IBS has settled down some.

Also had a Lidocain infusion about a week ago, that helped some but did not get rid of all the pain.

    thanks!:(

    quercetin

I was in that sort of flare up for months or maybe more than a year while I still had no diagnosis of Fibro. Never tried meds. Recently tried 1000 mg of quercetin 2x/day for just 2 days and voila! the pain was gone. It gave me a little headache though.

    hi

Although have never had a myers cocktail its worth a try. The vit c in it given IV would have anti bacterial/viral effects and magnesium would have pain relief effects, so worth a shot, let us all know how it go's.

I'm not sure how cost-effective the cocktails are, compared to other possible treatments/supplements, especially considering that they don't really last too long...maybe 8-12 hours at the most?

I had a few Myers IV drips about 2001-2002 or so, and felt better for a short while, but then had to wait for the bus on a busy street, basically inhaling all these pollutants...which probably completely negated the IV treatments.

I've heard other people swear by quercetin, and also nattokinase (and other fibrin dissolving enzymes), among other things.

Also...wondering if you changed what you're eating recently...or if there's anything else you could pinpoint the flare to?

    Take care,

    Dan

    Myers Cocktail

    To Heapsreal,

I figured the Myers Cocktail would be worth a try also! I am scheduled for weekly infusion for the following 3 weeks, 4 infusions in all.

    To Dannybex,

I am not sure of how cost effective it is either. I have already been taking magnesium malate and I got the results from my Dr yesterday and he said that the Mg was fine!

I just figured it was worth a shot and my Insurance covers about half? No bill yet and they did not ask for payment yesterday. perhaps if I cost the Ins. Co. enough a money, perhaps they will look into more research for CFS and Fibro?

The Rheumy who diagnosed me with Fibro, suggested to try PT. And to quit if it did not help or make it worse. I probably should have quit sooner, but I was desperate to have something give me some relief from my back pain!

so Danny this could have led to my Flare up, that or the summer heat and humidity or the exercise I get on my bike? Seems like I am going downhill relative to the past. I definetly do not do as much as I have in the past!

I guess I need to take it even easier?!

I try to take it easy but usually work 30 hours a week besides all the other demands of life. Even if I do not have any children.

Have not changed my diet before the flare up, but 1 of the new specialist I am seeing. 1 of co cure;'s good Drs.

He reviewed my Alletess Medical, Comprhensive Food Panel. I have 2 stars** for Brewer's Yeast and Egg Yolk. 1star* for 14 other food items. This test was done more than 1 year ago. May of 2008.

The Dr who ordered this test did not even notice the blanks in this profile. I left him because he did not seem very helpful and it seemed that I was telling him more than he informed me. To cap that off, when I requested my medical file, they wanted to charge me 50 dollars in copying/fee charges and I only saw him every 3 mos and had seen him less than 2years maybe only a year?

They sent me the file and I never paid and they ended up leaving me a message that he would not see me anymore if I did not pay the bill. No problem, did not plan on seeing him anymore anyways!

I believe this Dr might have had some training from Dr T, or his school of thought?

.. and the other specialist that I see, another Co cure Dr in MASS, is not interested in the test results!

There was a study done that showed nutrient IVs (including every vitamin, not just C) relieved fibromyalgia symptoms by something like 80% in majority of patients. No doubt there is a malabsorption/infectious factor to this disease.
