Another poor Lyme victim shuttered in a psychiatric institution for a spell after being treated for typical Lyme, then testing negative a year or so later when symptoms reappeared. He was only a 13 year-old boy at the time.
Only this time, after better testing, a novel Bb strain was discovered.
One has to wonder how many poor people infected with Bb are being abandoned - or worse - because they are being tested for the wrong species and/or strain. I think, too, his parents were fortunate not to have been accused of Munchausen by proxy.
