More re-packaged rubbish from the usual source.

    This represents us, apparently:

What is specialist medical care anyway? Is it a euphemism for doing nothing?

The picture certainly gives an insight into what you all look like.

Pity there's no picture of a man so I could check the image with reality.

    Damn, we're hawt! :woot:

Yes, in the UK at least. I think it might involve a pat on the head at regularly scheduled intervals, if you're lucky.

Don't knock Head Pat Therapy @Valentijn, I don't know how I'd get through the week without it and my other favourite Patronisation Therapy, Hair Stroking.
These wonderful alternative therapies make me feel so special in my wheel chair.

So there I was, working out (graded of course).... when a photographer appears and takes a photo of me hard at it ( tosses blonde hair) but frankly, what can I expect when I look SO DAMN GOOD??!!;);););););););).

Interesting timing of publication with the NICE stuff happening at present. Including all the patient evidence showing GE is harmful to a (large) proportion of patients and only helps a tiny proportion. Worrying really.

Not quite. You might get an aspirin or something if you need one.

I think we can safely assume that that's the case in all/most countries when it comes to ME. I can certainly vouch for Germany (no sleep, pain, or POTS meds or any other form of treatment for me).

[IMG]By the way this is how I look when I'm typing messages on PR (I earned myself this green smoothie after a GET session this morning):

They've missed the one with me jumping out of an aeroplane clinging onto my favourite rubber doll , wearing nothing but my anti fungal socks and landing safely from thirty thousand feet onto Simon Wessely's bed of lies
    Which one are you ?

Say that too loudly and the next thing you know they'll be doing a remote web-based version of it. You get told to give yourself a pat on the head I expect.

Ok, so this thread inspired me to google "graded exercise therapy" using picture search. This is what I found (no joke). Enjoy:
NOW I get it! At last!

    [IMG] [IMG]
    [IMG] [IMG]
Funny, I always go to the beach (preferably at sunrise) for my graded exercise, too!

As long as there is a nice view like a river I can reluctantly do a little GET without a beach on occasions.

I really hope the green thing in the background is a palm tree? Otherwise this scenery is not acceptable for GET!

Haha, of course I made that mistake on purpose. Love being corrected by Pierre, the good looking physiotherapist, whom hard working people pay for me with their taxes.

Ok, had to click on this picture. And found this first sentence:
That's right! GET should involve some community work like gardening in public parks! These malingerers with their chronic fatigue get enough of our tax money!

This picture is used on an article called "How Can I Start a Graded Exercise Program for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?"
Glad that this is only the start of a GET program, doesn't look too challenging. Do we get these trousers at the local fatigue clinic?

Oky doky! See you all at the beach at sunrise!

What's missing from this illustration, is that many of the steps are traps that collapse under your weight, dropping you not just back to the floor, but much deeper down into a dark basement there is no way out of. That would be a much more realistic representation.
