I am a undermethlyator with the mthfr c677t gene ++. I have been on b vitamins, multi, vit d, magnesium, zinc, probiotics, and vitamin c for a few years and have decent results. My functional medicine doctor recommended that I go on SAM e during the day and 5 htp at night to help with stress. I was wondering if anyone could comment on the experience with the two. In addition, I am thinking about adding acetyl-l-carnitine, COQ10, ALA, and milk thistle to help my mitochondria. Are any of these harmful to undermethylators? Thanks in advance!
