    I think the idea of molecular mimicry is far from established.
    From what I've read, autoimmune disease is a matter largely of chance with some genetic risk factors thrown in...

    If yersinia was really the culprit, I'm sure there would be more papers on the subject. It seems to me that this is a stretch to make any such conclusion, and the science that it's based on is theory not fact...

    Anyway, that just my understanding. I'm prepared to be wrong, but I'll need convincing!

    I found quite a few papers, also ones citing EBV, etc. But if you find some contrary ones, let me know ;).
