Insanely High HHV6 Level

I was given Famvir for hh6v, I just started so I cannot comment on how its working on my numbers. Symptoms wise So far so good. Is taking care of my permanent head buzz

Yes heaps, I read tht, however, my dr. wants me to try valtrex first. She wants me on it for 6 weeks as a trial. Actually, her recommendation came in Dec. I've been putting it off trying to get settled with the SMP first.
Sooooooo, I need to research a good manufacturer. More on this when I get going

give valtrex ashot you never know.
My understanding on valtrex and acyclovir is that valtrex converts to acyclovir in the body but at a much higher percentage then acyclovir itself, if that makes sense, basically taking the same dose of valtrex or aycylovir then the blood levels will be much higher with valtrex. I think cost side of things acyclovir is cheaper but then again u have to take higher doses to match the blood levels of valtrex so cost wise its much of a muchness??

I will 1st call the pharmacist about $$$. Than I will e-mail my dr. and gingerly ask her about Famvir. She happens to be one of the best in this area and ummmm......on the CFIDS board. I wonder if maybe the side effects are worse on v. vs. f. She is cautious in that respect. Thanks Heaps.

Dr Lerner told me that his patients had better luck with the Mylan and Teva generics than the others. He would request it specifically on the prescription to make sure we got the right one.

I go along with others in saying that Famvir would be a better than Valtrex for HHV-6. However, it might help to reduce some HSV, VZV, or EBV, which might make the Valcyte treatment easier later.

SOC I knew I read something somewhere. Thank you, now I feel a lot better no matter what she decided.

Good luck! He's an amazing guy. Definitely old school, but knows his stuff about infectious diseases. He wasn't doing anything with immune tests/function when we saw him, but he's well worth it for the ID treatment.

UPDATE: Dr. (without hesitation) wrote a new script for Famvir 1-500mg a day. It was filled with Apotex famciclovir on 3/19. I am happy to say, although only a week, I have had NO side effects but also no healing, so to speak. I hope the generic and brand is OK. I was so excited to get the script which was recommended by all of you. I forgot to ask about generic companies on this one.....so.....ANY SUGGESTIONS? Man I can't thank all of you enough. I will probably start a blog a) for others who were in my situation and b) for my ever decreasing memory.
I do feel being on Freddd's protocol has helped. I hope FREDDD see's this.
I humbly THANK each and every one of you for ALL your assistance, always. What a remarkable group PE has here.

i have been using cipla brand famvir for years with no problems through magicpharma. I would get a good pill splitter and take 250mg twice a day.
