A Rheumatologist I saw for my psoriasis refused to treat me because my immune system is a mess. I was thrilled someone finally saw this. She tried to get me a referral to a top guy in the county but my plan denied it and sent me to one of their peeps.

I saw her yesterday and she is totally clueless about ME/CFS. She is running some labs but I don't have a lot of confidence that even if she finds something she'll know what to do.

I'm going to appeal the denial. What I want to include is studies or something that will show that our immune system is vastly different from the general population, that numbers that most docs would see as acceptable are not, and that it takes a doc familiar with ME/CFS to interpret things.

I know, not asking for too much right?

I know the smart people here can head me to some links I can include.

Thanks mucho.

Would it do any good to point out to them that the rheumatologist found your immune system to be such a mess that she thought you needed to see this particular specialist?

@Little Bluestem That was in the paperwork I gave her and I told her.

I sent her the study @heapsreal gave me and some other stuff so she is ordering more labs, I don't know which yet.

Now I need stuff about viruses and ME since she is clueless about that. I'm looking for stuff from Montoya.
