I am not sure what it is. It only happens occasionally. I assume that the effect of nodules on either the thyroid or parathyroid would be consistent, so am doubting them.

I Have Half of a Sore Throat

This happens to me too but on the right side of my throat.
It took me years to realise that, for me, it is from chemical exposure.
Nowadays, the soreness (sometimes a sort of numb tingle) will spread, from my throat, to my right ear, right side of my tongue, jaw, eye, in fact all of my right side from the neck up. If its a bad chemical zap it will spread to the left side as well.
