I've been having *extreme reactions* to so many things it's almost comical. Except not. Here's the one's I can think of right now:

-Anything with caffiene, taurine, guarana, or other natural or synthetic "energy enhancers"
-Any foods with added protein/amino acids (e.g. whey powder, tofu with soy protein, beef jerky w/added protein, etc)
-Most vitamins & supplements- namely all B vitamins, callogen, vit A & K, D-Ribose, magnesium, enzyme supplements, zinc, anything with trace minerals, coQ10, most probiotic supplements I've tried, any multi-vits
-Drinks with high amounts of electrolytes (Coconut water, Gatorade, etc)
-Enriched foods with added vitamins & nutrients, such as almost all store-bought breads
-Any foods with a considerable sugar content such as sodas and sweetened smoothies

*By "extreme reactions" I mean I have a sudden rush of energy to the point where I can't focus, I'm jittery, having huge mood swings, feelings of not being myself, libido and cortisol levels through the roof and numbness to pain and cold followed by an intense "crash" normally lasting 2 to 3 days and consisting of feeling extremely tired, being much more aware of all my aches and pains, pounding headache, chills (pretty much my normal symptoms amplified).

I should also mention that I've had to limit my diet so much that I don't feel I am getting enough nutrients (super fatigued constantly, dark circles around eyes)

The above symptoms happened to me last week after eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!
I'm to a point where I'm almost afraid to eat.

I have had comprehensive testing for any food allergies and also specific testing for gluten sensitivities. Everything turned up negative. I am continuing to seek out answers with my Dr, but this is a mystery to every Medical Professional I've talked to so far.

I know it's a very unique problem, but I was wondering if anyone at all has experienced such extreme sensitivities or may have any clue as to what's going on. Definitely something metabolic but how it's effecting me on such a neurological level I have no idea.

Hi Ryan, have you considered Mast Cell Activation? have you seen someone who specialises in this? I'm not sure you would find anyone near where you live who could look at that with you, but there are a number of specialists in the States.

@justy when I was working with a Naturopath her suspicions were some form of M.C.A.D. I wasn't aware there were specialists in the field. I'll have to check into that.

@roller That's an interesting discovery and I'm glad it's helped you. I don't know that it applies to me, as I've had reactions to ingesting in just about every shape and form - from powder, liquid, capsule, gels, pills, solid foods, liquid foods and so on. Even certain shampoos and skin products when they absorb into my pores give me the same or similar reactions.
