I've read that a lot of people with ME/CFS tend to have lower cortisol levels - I apologize as I don't have a source and can't remember where I read it. Is that the case for most of you? Mine is high.

Could be more related to hpa-axis dysfunction?

My theory is that high cortisol is either:

    1. A response to excess inflammation
    2. The result of a dysregulated hpa-axis, due to things like viruses, etc. (which would cause 1. anyway)

To tell you the truth I don't really know if I could tell between high or low. I've had so many layers of symptoms over the years............it's just one big blur.
