Yeah i used to do quite a bit of fasting as I felt always better when not eating then when I eat. This issue turned out to be due to food sensitivities, a issue with a trace mineral so i would be deficient in a couple of enzymes which one needs to deal with certain things which are in foods and I also have hyperinsulinemia (so body dont handle carbs well). So anyone who feels better when they arent eatting needs to sort out why that is so, why food makes you iller or ill.

On top of doing basically starvation fasts... I also did some organic juice fasts. The juice fast experiementing was interesting as I found out my brain works better on juice fast of certain juices (but not all juices), something was theraputic there.

I'm better when I eat. Fasting causes fainting, vomiting, severe stomach pain and greater weakness for me. Tried different fasts from no food, fruit/veges, broths and juices.

hi Tania, I feel better when I dont eat. what sort of tests did you do to find out how food effects you?

To diagnose carbohydrate/insulin issues a 2 hr Glucose Tolerance Test with insulin levels taken too is needed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glucose_tolerance_test .

These can be either done with drinking glucose solution they provide or what I found to be better still.. is instead of glucose solution, they can be done using ones normal breakfast to see what that does to you.
With these tests its a 12 hr fast before the test and fasting blood is taken then one eats the the breakfast one packed to take there or has the glucose solution. For some reason it didnt show up in my with the glucose.. but my 2 specialists both were so sure I had an insulin issue that they sent me back to have it redone to see how things reacted to my breakfast. With that my insulin issue clearly showed up (on the second occassion it was up after the 12 hr fast as well and then went up quite high with breakfast.. i have cordial with my breakfast so had that too).

Anyone who has polycystic ovulation syndrome (PCOS) should expect they probably have hyperinsulinemia or diabetes as by 40 years.. 95% of women with those problems by that age do but doctors are lax with testing. So be suspect if you have abnormally long menstrual cycles or miss periods before menopause (PCOS is the most common cause of those things).
........

My food intollerances I worked out by trial and error over time.

The essential trace mineral deficiency was picked up throu hair analysis testing. My specialists says hair analysis testing isnt always accurate with high levels of things as things in the air get on the hair and can end up giving off false results (also things like hair dyes and shampoos can affect)....but as far as deficiencies goes, he said that's accurate in hair testing you cant just loose what should be there. The quite severe deficiency i had there is molybdenum (that deficiency can cause MCS)

2 hr Glucose Tollerance test with insulin levels take too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glucose_tolerance_test

You can be tested with these with either a glucose solution after a 12 hr fast during which before bloods and during bloods and after bloods are taken or by taking whatever you have at breakfast time there and having that instead of the glucose along with all the blood tests. My test using the glucose solution was fine but both my specialists were postive I had hyperinsulinema (due to my symptoms and that I have PCOS so had a 95% chance of having that or diabetes) so got me to redo the test and seeing how my body reacted to breakfast.
On the second occassion, my insulin was up after the 12 hr fast and shot up further during the test showing it was going too high.

*Note.. females who have polycystic ovulation syndrome (PCOS is the most common cause of missed periods or long cycles).. have a 95% chance of having an insulin or glucose issue by the time they are 40 years old. So anyone who has abnormal periods.. do consider you are far more likely to have carb issue.

My food intollerances I'd previously worked out by trial and error eg peanuts

The trace essential mineral deficiency of Molydenum got picked up throu hair analysis. My specialist says hair analysis isnt all that accurate as hair picks up things from environment so many high levels of things may be inaccurate.. but as far as deficiencies go, it is accurate there as it cant loose what should be there. (from my research.. lack of Molydenum may give one MCS)
