Got schistosomiasis?

Dr. Omar Amin's parasite testing lab diagnosed me with Schistosomiasis.

A water-born, worm parasite disease ('snail fever') that causes havoc in the intestines and tissues. I have been infected for almost 12 years and I am keen to get rid of it. The main drug, Biltricide (praziquantel), is currently on a manufacturing hiatus in the US. I am going to try Dr. Amin's "Freedom, Cleanse, Restore" herbal remedy - the science behind formulating it looks pretty solid.

Has anyone else dealt with a schistosomiasis infection or a similar kind of tissue-invading worm?

Any tips on how to heal the damage from it?

Have you heard good reports on Freedom Cleanse Restore from other people infected with parasites? Or read any posts on it?

What symptoms did you have with that? Did you see flatworms in your stool? Were you out of the country prior to developing symptoms?

To be honest I know who this guy is and he did not diagnose parasites in several people I know who sent him samples who later were found to indeed have them. I'd stick with genova stool or parasite testing which I believe may use better dna testing of parasites. His herbal formula I can't speak to the efficacy of because the people I know who tried it did not benefit. You are better off taking that diagnosis to a tropical medicine doctor and getting a lot of prescription meds then retesting. What you have is not something to be taken lightly with nothing more than herbs thrown at it. They get into the liver and the herbal medication I doubt is strong enough to get in there and make a dent. It's probably worth purchasing as an adjunct though to prescription treatment. A doctor should take your diagnosis very seriously and refer you to someone who knows how to treat that with prescription medications.

I (allegedly) had a blood parasite/worm which I treated with Ivermectin. The drug helped me so I guess the diagnosis wasn't completely up in the air.
Did you ask your Dr whether Flagyl or other antiparasitic meds could help? I think xks201's advice about seeing a specialist is a good one.

If this worm of yours was strictly confined to the gut, then natural remedies could help. I personally have been disappointed over and over by natural remedies, which in my experience do not work for systemically, but may help with localised ones such as to the gut. In centuries past people were often affected by worms and natural remedies (garlic etc.) seemed to help. However if it can spread to other parts of the body I doubt natural remedies would help.

You may also want to look into papaya seeds which are cheap, readily available and quite effective against a number of gut parasites although I'm not sure about this particular worm. On pubmed you can find studies on the use of papaya seeds against parasites.

Once you get rid off the parasite your body will recover on its own, I personally don't think you need anything at all to heal.

I am nearly certain I was infected while visiting remote islands in India, 2003. I was camping on beaches for weeks at a time, and at one particularly beautiful campsite I was collecting freshwater snails (the schitsosomaisis host organism) for fishing bait. I had bad stools and flu-like symptoms but the entire trip was so long and rugged (I was infected with giardia in Nepal several months earlier) - it was hard to compare it to a baseline and I just accepted it and kept going.

Long-term symptoms include: fatigue, IBS, skinny / unable to gain weight and muscle, malaise & flu-like aches that flare up on the night of the full moon.

I have never noticed worms in my stools. For better or for worse, other labs have missed my infection and Dr. Amin's lab identified it. I am going to import and take the indicated systemic medication (Biltricide / praziquantel) in adjunct to the herbal cleanse.

@xrunner
My doctor was completely clueless and he referred me to a infectious disease specialist. I am going there wednesday. I believe that natural remedies may not be enough. Although Dr. Amin makes a convincing case that his remedy has been formulated based on deep scientific research and lab tested effective against all kinds of parasites:

I am probably going to take the systemic chemical "hard stuff" to kill my worm. But I have lived such an "adventurous" life... visiting 3rd world countries, trekking & camping in the deep wilderness, walking barefoot & eating burritos in the Grateful Dead parking lot... I probably have other parasites in addition to the schitsosomiasis Dr. Amin's lab detected. I want some kind of strong herbal cleanse as backup.

I can easily get or grow fresh papaya, thanks for the seed tip!

@xrunner,

I sure hope that killing this worm is going to help my overall condition and malaise. Did you get obvious changes or improvements after you destroyed yours?
