Gene editing cures a real genetic disease

The BBC is reporting that gene editing via a tailored virus has apparently cured people with factor VIII hemophilia.

This has bittersweet connotations for me, because one friend with hemophilia died about 10 years ago. He had a different form involving factor IX. This could however be good news for his son.
