I thought this might be of interest with a clinician's perspective from Julia Newton :

This patient developed severe fatigue as a result of primary biliary cirrhosis in her 40s. She describes her frustration with the reluctance of successive clinicians to recognise the severity of her fatigue and the damage it was doing

“That can’t be a problem: your blood tests are fine”
....we continue to be surprised by the lack of appreciation of those both inside and outside our field as to the enormity of the implication that fatigue has for individuals who experience it.
