Hi,

I have CFS for 5 years (auto diagnosed) I tried to see Dr Nancy Klimas (referred on November) but they were not taking new patients. Also applied for Dr Peterson but have not heard from them yet.

Any new patients that will see Dr Nancy? Are you getting in at all??? Is it possible to get her at the new place, if so how to apply???

TX!

This is my goal this year, to bite the bullet and spend some money and see a real CFS doctor. The two on my list are Klimas and Peterson. I was wondering if Klimas was going to have a clinic opening soon at her new location. It doesn't sound like Peterson is easy to get into see either. Good luck to you.

I suspect Dr. Klimas is in limbo mode at the moment. She always has a lot going on but she is probably spending a lot of time doing administrative stuff in preparation of her initiatives. I will be seeing her soon so maybe I can add more later but my take so far is that she (Klimas herself) may see fewer patients but will have more people on her staff to see patients.

I am not an expert on Peterson but it seems he doesn't see all that many patients and that they must fit a certain profile. I thought recall very low NKC activity was one of them; maybe sudden onset?

Thank you all for the replies. I did apply to her private clinic which is where they are not taking new patients. I will call again since is Jan and see what they say.

Please let me know if somebody goes to see her, what the prospect is for new patients. I will keep trying some other specialist w no waiting list. if you know any names pls let me know.

HI Friends ,
i have the very same question. Been waiting a long while to try to make a Klimas visit work.
I was recently told I am to see her colleague (irma?) now. I'm wondering if this is worth it? Could her colleague REALLY know as much as she? Does she Truly sign off/overview/give the final say for her colleagues too? (Eg she gives input even if we see another Dr. at the clinic?)
This is what i was told, but, honestly wonder, the ENORMOUS physical/financial feat it will take to get there, if I should fight another way to see. Dr. Klimas herself.
SO APPRECIATIVE of any input!! (from those who have seen her, and/or know of her colleagues there). I'm talking about the now "older" U. Miami clinic.
Thanks much,
Peace and blessings for the New Year,
HTree

i know a woman who is seeing klimas' colleague and seems happy with her. i believe she consults klimas too and they all sort of work together...thats the feeling i got, anyway.

wonder if klimas will be using gcmaf or what...

I told them i don't mind seeing whomever. I am so frustrated w Drs ignorance on cfs and just to know they will order the right tests, and also asks the right question (w/o looking at me like a rare creature), seeing all my symptoms as part of a whole, is a plus for me. I hate this referral to a different doctor for each symptom, which they change per month!!!

HTree, fwiw, since you are in the northeast, maybe it's easier to see Dr. Enlander. I started with him a few weeks ago and it was easy to get in. He took my out-of-state insurance. He will treat me remotely.
