    In a nutshell:
    • Methanol is transformed into formaldehyde
    • Formaldehyde (mitochondria toxin) decreases ATP production
    • Formaldehyde in the cell causes methylation of the cell proteins
    • Formaldehyde reacts with a protein and the immune system reacts to this formaldehyde modified protein causing an autoimmune reaction

    Appararently formaldehyde has got form;) (may be just a joke in Australia/England)
    i think formaldehyde could be in like furniture and carpet glue, plastics
