@Dolphin thank you for encouraging me to start this thread. x

Hi Everyone

This thread is all about supporting our ME researchers by donating dollars to any research that you would like to support. Feel free to mention who you are donating too but completely fine if you would like to keep it to yourself.

I would love to see this thread ticking over daily with someone donating. A dollar here and there all adds up and we would really love it if you can give a whole lot more. :balloons:

I hope those who cannot donate will be encouraged greatly by this thread that others are moving things along for you when you can't.

Thanks so much. Here's to the future and getting all our lives back.

I'm off to make a donation....for us....back soon.

This thread is missing good links to research projects. I'll leave that to other members who post with links in their signatures.

Please post other great research links too, anyone.

I recently made a donation to Dr Ron Davis birthday fundraise, so today I have made a donation to Dr Lipkin and Hornig. :balloons: :woot:

Could I add a quick mention for the research that is being funded by the MEA Ramsay Research Fund:
http://www.meassociation.org.uk/research2015/

The MEA RRF is 'ring fenced' for research.

This means that ALL donations to the MEA RFF go to research

There are no salaries or office administration costs to pay out of our research fund - all of these costs are met from our general (non research) funds

More information (ME Action report from Simon McGrath) on the work of ME/CFS Biobank, where the MEA is now the sole funder:
http://www.meaction.net/2016/08/11/uk-biobank-paves-the-way/

We are also funding four studies involving mitochondrial (muscle) dysfunction in ME/CFS:

A very happy birthday to you Tom, great to see you. Hope you've had a fabulous day and been able to get outside and enjoy your summer for a bit. I can't wait for mine, though especially happy that we have had a mild winter this year.

It was very heartwarming to hear your friend had made a birthday donation to OMF. Bless you both.

My friend Orla Ní Chomhraí kindly donated $20 to Open Medicine Foundation for my birthday today (we exchange presents i.e. I don't expect anyone else to).
Also:

Tom,
In honor of your birthday, OMF received a donation from Bethany Eisenberg. Bethany wrote:

In honor of Tom Kindlon's Birthday and for all he does for those of us with ME. Thank you Tom! Bethany

We hope you had a wonderful birthday and are honored that we are a part of your celebration.

Wishing you strength and happiness,

Guys,

I can only speak from an OMF perspective but just to say THANKYOU so much for your donations. They help hugely as we are currently funded solely by public donation. You are directly responsible for helping fund the research and inevitably a cure for this disease. What an amazing thing!!

Thankyou so much for being such advocates!

P.s. Please sign up to the newsletter so you know what your donations are helping towards and be kept informed of the progress!
