Hello I joined the forum today and this is my first post besides my introduction.

My GP referred me to a rheumatologist, who after six months has finally given me a diagnosis (though an extremely vague one, "CFS, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Widespread Pain, whatever you want to call it"). Her only advice is to exercise, and she sent me to a physiotherapist who essentially drove me into the ground. I've stopped the physio as I felt useless when I couldn't meet her goals for exercise (but I still attempt the exercises when I feel up to it).

I'm looking to see an ME specialist to help me get a grip on my symptoms and better manage them. Currently my worst three symptoms are, in order of severity, Joint Pain, Fatigue and Headaches.

I was prescribed Nortriptyline to control the headaches (Amitriptyline first, but it didn't work for me), and this has helped but it's made my fatigue worse, to the point where my arms are shaking with the effort of typing this. Before the medication fatigue was only an issue when I was particularly active and I was functioning at between 60 and 80 percent. Now I'm at 20. I'm hoping finding a specialist will result in medication that works better for me.

I started college in September, and had to quit by October because it was too much to handle. My current goal, although unlikely since my health has plummeted since, is to restart in September and actually get through my A levels. Any advice for finding a good doctor? Thanks and sorry for the fairly long post!
