Digital Storytelling Toolkit: tell your story

16 December 2014

Professional storyteller Michael Williams says everyone has a story to tell, but others don’t always listen. That’s why we worked with him earlier this year to help people with M.E. be heard.

Along with film-maker Paul Maguire, Michael led Action for M.E.’s Digital Storytelling pilot project in Scotland in 2014. Ten people took part, sharing their experience of M.E./CFS with others and showcasing their films our Journeys with M.E. screening and workshop during M.E. Awareness Week 2014.

We are thrilled that Michael has produced a Digital Storytelling Toolkit http://www.actionforme.org.uk/get-involved/raise-awareness/digital-storytelling-toolkit.htm , which provides a step-by-step guide to telling your own M.E. story, simply, succinctly and effectively. It then guides you through the process of making your own affordable digital films, outlining what equipment you need, how best to use it and providing some top tips on film-making. The toolkit is designed to enable people affected by M.E. to work at their own pace while managing their symptoms.

We’d love to hear from anyone who uses the toolkit to help them make their own stories.
