Deer Antler

    Have any of you used Deer Antler?
    If so how did you prepare it?
    How much did you use?
    Did you notice any benefits?

    Deer Antler Velvet was popular 19 years ago when I first got sick. You could buy capsules I think. If I remember, it was proven to do nothing and was just crap some doctors were pushing on people.

    I don't know if I'd waste my money when there are so many other things to take

    From what I have read it's a big part of Chinese Medicine
    and my acupuncturist recommended it
    I am not using the capsules but the actual deer antler boiled down and drank like a tea

    If you google it, most people say the caps helped for awhile and then stopped. I've never heard of just dear antler tea.

    But if it helps you, why not? I know there are people here smarter than me who may know more than me.

    Someone will chime in I'm sure.

    I never pay attention to glowing reports from people who sell stuff. Plus it's very expensive.

    Not to much objective information except for the link
    One of my concerns is that the animals are not abused that supply it

    I am also wondering how people use it
    Daily a few times a week what time of day etc

    I get mine at a chinese herb shop it is expensive per ounce but a little goes a long way
    I make a tea out of it and drink a sip a few times a week
    Here are my observations
    I get an increase in muscle strength not energy
    It does not hype me up
    It leaves the system fairly rapidly
    I does not seem to alleviate PEM
