I copied and pasted this information, it was written by a top Lyme specialist. Interesting for those of us on abx.

'The bad taste from clarithromycin use is a reflection of the blood and tissue level of this med- it is not caused by the taste of the tablet itself.
Because it loosely reflects the tissue levels, the taste is an important clue for clinicians. If there is minimal taste, then a higher dose may be needed. If the taste is strong and persists all day, then perhaps a lower dose would suffice.'

I hear this about all antibiotics from people using them, a "weird metallic taste in the mouth" If I had a nickel for every time I heard that phrase... LOL. Good to know it can be utilized in such a neat way to find therapeutic effect.

for a bad taste try an imovane in your mouth and leave it there for about 30 secs before swallowing, omg cant get rid of it then.

I would look at other abx in same family like roxithromycin or maybe azithromycin??

what a wuss you are:) bring on the imovane, I regularly forget the water. Of course its the cold weather that makes us Brits tough you need to spend a year over here!!

I just thought it was an interesting view from this man who's treated thousands of Lyme patients, and LISTENED to them, one size doesn't fit all. The mistake so many doctors make.

It's more a fact that imovane makes my Pepsi max taste awful, lol.
