This is slightly old news, but I can't find this information on the forum.

The Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP), part of the USA's Department of Defense, has released their recommended research projects for fiscal year 2010. As part of a short-list of various research projects into GWI, the WPI and Judy Mikovits have been recommended to receive funding for researching the association between XMRV and Gulf War Illness:

"Detection of Xenotropic Murine Leukemia Virus- Related Virus (XMRV) in Gulf War Illness: Role in Pathogenesis or Biomarker? Whittemore Peterson Institute, Judy Mikovits"

The short-list was published in Feb 2011 and I'm not sure if this funding has actually been confirmed yet, or if it is still awaiting confirmation. I'm not sure when the 2010 fiscal year funding is allocated either.

Further information on the 91outcomes website:

There's a facebook account that says that the funding has been confirmed (but i can't see any evidence for this), and that Nancy Klimas (as part of a consortium) has also been recommended to receive two grants:
