Never Ask Us if We're Hungry -- The Answer's Always No
There are three of us here and for many years, none of us ever got hungry. When our brains would turn to mush, when our faces would go numb, and we would start the invisible vibration which is the signature dance of ME/CFS, we knew we needed to eat.

Thanks, that looks interesting. I generally feel good on anti-inflammatories, and worse on anything that increase inflammation. I take it you had no effective response from it, since you moved on to something else?

No (and for anyone browsing who like me - needed a reminder: SNP = single-nucleotide polymorphism) I was only going by what was in the linked article. From my reading of generalist genetic research, my understanding (which may be wrong) is that there are likely many combinations of mutations involved, producing a whole range of differing profiles that could throw up similar/linked deficencies. That could be why there is a wide variety of autoimmune diseases, although that may not be the main factor or a factor at all.

My guess is that M.E/CFS (of whatever flavour), will eventually resolve diagnostically to one or more (perhaps many)conditions which are either distinctly autoimmune or which have an autoimmune component - it's why I'm not overly concerned about hanging on to the 'neurological' label in the long term. I also think talking about a hypothesis of M.E/CFS as a "putative autoimmune mediated condition" might be tactically useful in the short term. However, also think that certainty is a very long way off, so I'm very wary of proposed treatments which could have unforseen effects on people with genetic variants, the vulnerbilities of which are not yet understood.

That link doesn't address toxicity issues that were establshed in mouse studies in the 1980s, and which seem to have served to inhibit use of 10-carboxymethyl-9-acridanone as a treatment, other than in the former Soviet states. Have you any information relating to Cycloferon toxicity in humans ?

Cycloferon work quite well actually when i first used it and nk function test i had when on it showed big improvements. I thjink what happens is its affects wear off but i used it for a few month with good affect. Maybe needs to be cycled more like immunovir which i didnt do. I just dosed 2 tabs mon/wed/fri or injectable on a mon/thur schedule, maybe need to use it 2 months on and 1 month off like immunovir etc. the way i am going to be using it is 1 month on and 2 months off and when off i will be on immunovir.

in vitro, i didnt come across any toxicity info on cyclo, the info i read was that it was safe and had been used since the 1960s in russia etc with no issues?? this link has some cyclo info but also other interferon inducers used in russia and east block countries http://www.arbidol.org/27390604.pdf i have come across some other info on pubmed showing it effective for viral infections etc etc

    Hi Heapsreal,

I live in Brisbane. I had already done millions of tests. I had adrenal saliva test, DHEA also. Yes I do have adrenal exhaustion and my DHEA is on the low range. I start taking some herbal medication such as Adrenotone, rihmania and licorice.

I just checked the tests. In my viruses, which have been diagnosed for IgG positive and IgM negative. I was checked for food allerges and I have some, which I knew of before the test as they caused me bone pain. I am lactose intolerant. I am GF and lactose free for 1 year. I had IBS. When I stopped eating grains, my pains in my stomach improved a lot, but I know that I have candida issues, which I can't really fix, I tried to be on strict candida diet, but made myself worse because of methylation problems I have, now I am trying to fix that.

My main problem at the moment is neurological pain. I went to many doctors with my back pain, and most of them told me to take Endep or lyrica. I constantly feel cold sensation in the areas where I have back problems. I was treating it naturally as much as I could. I have chemical sensitivities also. I want to try Endep at small doses.

I am going to talk to my doctor about Immunovir, he is integrative doctor. I also go to a naturopath, she is trained in America.

At the moment I spend thousands of dollars to try to find a cure, not just masking Symptoms.

you told me that I can get lymphocyte cell subset in any lab. I had it done, the results I posted in my previous post, my naturopath told that I need a different test to identify th1 or th2 dominance and I called all labs they told that don't do it anymore in Australia.

How can I increase my DHEA naturally by not taking actual DHEA hormone? Also my other hormones such as progesteron and testosterone is low. I lost lots of weight not eating grains only meat and veggies and my naturopath told it should balance itself as soon as I put my weight on, but I just worry that it takes so long.

Where do you live in Australia?

    many thanks

I'm interesting in testing also. Could you make a list of recommended immune system tests? I mean tests that would be available from regular labs. Which ones should I ask for?

lymphocyte subsets, immunoglobulin sub classes, lymphocyte function test, nk function test if possible. they are what i have had done as well as the common viral and bacterial infections in cfs/me. ebv/cmv have stood out for me and the lymph sub sets and nk function, with my improvement with antivirals i havent really looked into further testing as i think/hope i have found what i need to treat.

Thanks. What's the difference between a lymphocyte subset test, and a lymphocyte function test? Do I need both, or just one of them?

I am originally from Russia and just now I spoke with my brother over the phone, who still lives there. He told me that the best treatment for all herpes infections is Panavir, but it should be kept under 25C which is problematic in Australia. I would order it but dont know how to keep it cool. Even by DHL ice packs will melt. It is quite expensive even in Russia.

I dont know how she is coming to that conclusion.. many of us who have ME have hormone deficiencies and they arent at all weight related. Low testosterone.. Ive spoken to enough ME people to have come to believe that its quite common in us. (I trialed testosterone implant for a while for my decificency but found it gave me side effects). Ive also tried natural progesterone to balance out my estrogen dominance but that didnt help either.

For your back. if you havent tried it already.. I suggest to seek out a chiropractor (not just any chiro but one in which others are talking highly about). Cold areas can be due to things not flowing right.

Also make sure your D levels are fine as one can have pain issues when its lower then it should be. My specialist has told me that the current recommended D guidelines in Australia are too low and that they are soon to be raised to 80 (from 60).

sub sets just measures numbers and a function measures how well they work, sometimes numbers can be good but they just dont work. for what its worth my lymphocyte function test was normal but when i had a nk function test it was really low??

Thanks Taniaaust1. I had a good herbalist on the Gold Coast and she made my hormones be in a very good range.then I stopped taking herbs as they were made in alcohol. I was trying to cure candida. And in half a year I collapsed with hashimoto and lots of other problems because of my methylation problems I was not aware of. I am in the process of setting up a new consult with my herbalist and hopefully she can help me to balance my hormones. If you are interested I can post you her details. Many people from different states of Australia consult her, especially who can't become pregnant.

I am going to a chiropractor for two year. Thanks for advising. I know that I have inflammatory problem in my back. Also SI joint problem with coccydinia.

Thanks for that found this http://www.panavir.com/ comes in a gel for visible outbreaks, IV and suppositories, so no tablets:(. used for chronic tick-borne encephalitis, ophthalmoherpes, herpes zoster (shingles), cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, Human papilloma virus, so all the things that would help us.

It does say its an antiviral/immunomodulator so i think it maybe an interferon inducer like immunovir and cycloferon.

Seems the administration of it would be the hardest for many of us to try and find a doc to infuse an unknown substance from russia they know nothing about.

The thread i read says it costs $425 dont know quantity, so not cheap either.

Russians to have alot of similar immune mods, seem to have been more interested in treating virus in the east and the west went after antibiotics.

    thanks Zoya
