    I can't help but think when I read this and similar things these days that any effort made to bring trust and transparency back to government or business will just result in a less cavalier attitude on the part of the offending parties toward their malfeasance (as in dishonest/misleading).

    That is to say, they will simply be more careful with covering up so that they won't be found out.
