Are there any M.E. experts in Australia or that visit here?

Does anyone know if there are any M.E. experts in Australia tht aren't just gp's and who don't go by the cbt/get plan?. And if any would travel to see their patients if needed?. Or if there are any overseas M.E. specialists that come Australia that will travel to see patients?. I am already diagnosed (19yrs ago) but need help with treatment/staying alive etc.

I'm in country nsw north of sydney, interstate is out of the question due to distance and cost (and health!).

Hi Tulip, there are GP's and specialists who will take you seriously and treat you with more than just GET and CBT. Some are listed here: http://www.acnem.org/modules/mastop_publish/?tac=30

There are also people on the Aussie based NC forum, who may be able to help you with a decent doctor. http://forum.notcrazy.net/ Also a yahoo group called OzME is an Australian based group with a lot of members who may be able to help out.

dr deed mediwell medical ctr brisbane 07 34217488, does do phone consults etc, may need to do initial first consult in person but not sure, he is into alternative medicine as well and will do immune testing and test for all relevant viruses like ebv, cmv, hhv6 and uses antivirals if appropriate plus lots of other stuff too. give them a ring and see what they have to offer
