    Hi all,

I am new to the website, though I've known of its existence for years. My wife and I both got ME/CFS back in 1987. My wife's condition is quite severe still but I have improved somewhat. We were seeing a Dr. in TX but he went overseas. At this point, traveling out of state (even to northern WA) isn't possible. I recently had a stress echo while establishing care with a new conventional Dr. to update my Mitral Valve Prolapse dx but it didn't show up. I asked about a possible dx of diastolic dysfunction but the Dr. said I don't have it either. I'm trying to get a more definitve dx on my heart/circulation symptoms. I'm not sure what explains it but I need to know the best I can.

Anyone with ME/CFS or cardio Dr. info, esp. re: heart issues?

I'm confused, do you want a Dr. in Texas or Washington? I don't know what PDX is.

Thanks or clearing it up. You may want to change the title of your thread so others understand.

At the top of your first post on the right, click on Thread Tools, then on edit. Then type your new title.

There are no top ME/CFS specialists in the Portland, OR area. Sadly, few of us have nearby access to knowledgeable specialists. Hopefully it will be different someday.

Quite a few of us travel by airplane to distant specialists. If you request wheelchair assistance when you reserve your ticket, and arrange for transportation via taxi or hotel shuttle at both ends, the travel is tolerable even for some severely ill patients. I'm not saying it's always easy, but it's not terrible and well worth the effort to see a doctor who actually understands the illness and can do something to improve your condition. It's certainly better than sitting around at home getting worse.

locals will understand what is meant (and that's who you mean to ask). It should be ok, IMO.

Yes, but why limit your audience size, you never know who might have some knowledge that could lead you to a good Dr more locally!

PS I had no idea of what PDX was either!
