That is a great analogy. CBT is nothing more or less than a short cycle brainwashing. Cheap & easy. Maybe a little soma on the side. Iz

(Do read the comments on this one though.)

I was reviewing this stuff and more for my book when the IOM announcement came along. More the tortoise than the hare or the energizer bunny, but a tortoise in a timely fashion.

A lot of these articles have their own bias too. It pays to be careful.

Alex: They say timing is critical. Don't know who they is though. Probably Mr. Tortuga.

My brain has been ever so tired these last few weeks. Its like someone stepped in and squished it and keeps squishing. And my fingers won't work. And there you are in hospital all chirpy and brain functiony.

Thanks for sending the thingy-bobbies so I can read esp the last one & comments. My brain just dumped 40 IQ points and I only had 7 points left to begin with. Contemplate that.

Talked to my sweet sister on the phone tonight, She is so dear and patient. She had to guess about every 3rd word I wanted to say. And she never complains. I tell you this so you know "I can't brain today . . " I'm having a dumb month. [cite is fr Katrina Berne]

Thanks & Take Care, Alex. Bunches of good spirits are there for you. Mine, too. Iz

Alex: I think I broke this web site. Your words got crunched in with mine,

When you get tagged does that mean "You're It." Then you have to hide & be found?

I read that last PT post and the comments. I'm getting seriously worried about my brain. It didn't make much of a dent in my knowledge base. The October piece I read before you sent the links seemed fairly clear and logical. Was there a toad under that toadstool that I missed?
    Take Care, Iz

I had a couple Scottish friend. Could hardly understand a thing he said. He wrote prose which could suck you into another world. His wife was a beautiful soul. She ran group homes for mentally & functionaly limited and autistic children. Both were so incredibly into life. They didn't seem to care whether they were societly acceptable. Is that a Scottish thing?

Wouldn't it be awesome if evidence based medicine was based on evidence in context rather than self-promotion?

You may want to read Campbell Black's, May He Rest in Peace, aka Cambell Armstrong's, website. He was Scottish, he was.
