[poll] Did your sleep problems occur only after stimulants?

My background for the question: In high school I started experiencing chronic fatigue. At that time I could sleep for 10 hours straight without waking up, but felt like I heavy rock throughout the rest of the day, making it hard to function. It got progressively worse, so I got on stimulants...

Upvote this question to someone on the Gates Foundation

Probably silly, but I just saw this question posted to a member of the gates foundation on reddit. It'd be great to have it upvoted in hopes of bringing awareness to the issue: http://www.reddit.com/r/science/comments/2ir2en/science_ama_series_im_steven_buchsbaum_i_lead_a/cl4scox

    Brain fog better in cold

I frequently get acute heavy brain fog (a really heavy feeling in the head that makes me almost feel dizzy/disoriented) that can last for 30 minutes or more. I notice that when I take a shower I usually feel better. I often get it when I'm in a hot car. When I walk into a cold building I get...

How to reduce glutamate levels in the brain?

Do you take NAC + Glycine at the same time? And at what time? Before bed?

Thanks. Maybe this forum could benefit from a Success category?

    What's working for people currently?

I understand everyone is different, but all I see on here are people experimenting with treatment plans to move on to the next one. I hear several CFS/ME/FM specialists mentioned and recommended, but don't hear of any success stories coming out of them. I can't read every post, so I probably...

    Weird Paradoxical Sleep Pattern

Yep. Same here. More sleep (with or without meds) makes me a non-functional zombie the next day. I hate that I have such broken sleep. I feel bad the next day, but I feel freaking awful if I do have a great night sleep (which is almost never now).

    What works for mid-of-night awakenings?

WebMD: Side Effects of Magnesium: So, if your blood levels are already normal, I don't get how this is safe?

    What works for mid-of-night awakenings?

My blood magnesium levels came back normal. Is this something that's still ok to try? I recall trying it in the past and it not making a difference. Then the other day I had muscle cramps and took one before bed. I still woke up in the middle of the night, but the following night I had one...

Anyone have any success with GAPS?

Did you start the antibiotics after the GAPS diet? If so, how long after? Just trying to gauge if the improvement was a result of the antibiotics. Also, what antibiotics are you on and for how long? I've been bitten by numerous ticks growing up and have some minor facial paralysis to go...

Anyone have any success with GAPS?

Awesome. Thank you both for replying. I tried gluten free a while back and was so excited after the 2 week trial was up (so that I could get back to eating pizza and chesseburgers on a bun). I didn't really notice an improvement in brain fog or fatigue. Insomnia was probably worse. My bloating...

Anyone have any success with GAPS?

Has anyone had success with GAPS in significantly alleviating their brain fog and fatigue? Diets are a huge commitment and can be very troubling to stick to. I just want some confidence before giving this a shot.

    14 years of something

It started out in high school as IBS symptoms. Then, a few years later in college, I'd find myself zoning out a lot. I lost the energy I had in high school. After I graduated college I felt tired all the time with brain fog that I swear gets worse every year. I slept solid, though. After a few...
