    Recurring parasite infections?

Does getting a parasite infection once make you more susceptible to getting them in future? I think I read something like that before but I'm not sure. Thank you. What can I do to prevent myself from getting parasite infections?

    Bulding Muscle

I've tried to build muscle while having CFS and I managed to go from 50kg to 62kg over 7 years but my symptoms worsened and I had major brain fog, chest pains, heart palpitations, intestinal bloating, low grade fevers and for 2 months my CFS worsened to the point that I was in bed for 16hrs a...

ME/CFS Test? Can you raise your legs when lying down?

I can do the leg exercises now, but I suffer from very weak muscles and very little muscle mass (ribcage, hip bones spine can all be seen clearly), so I'm experiencing the same thing as the other guy, whereby I can do it but it's just tiring which seems to be different from your case. But I'll...

ME/CFS Test? Can you raise your legs when lying down?

The Naturopathic Doctor that I'm seeing right now has put me on a programme for my 23andMe results but this method of treatment is very new to her as well. I'll be following the programme for the next 6 months to see if there is any improvement. Fingers crossed! I believe my illness is largely...

ME/CFS Test? Can you raise your legs when lying down?

Hi, did your doctor put you on any programme based on your genetic mutations? If he did, how was it?

    Why isn't CFS/ME just Adult-onset Mitochondrial Disease?

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Good luck to you too, hope we are able to solve our problems in the near future. (:

    Why isn't CFS/ME just Adult-onset Mitochondrial Disease?

Any reason why you think yours is viral? I want to make sure I've gone through that thought process. I'm currently looking at genetic as I've had issues with digestion for my whole life and I did notice that my mother had similar symptoms (not as bad as mine though) before she died of cancer...

    Why isn't CFS/ME just Adult-onset Mitochondrial Disease?

Have you tried the 23andMe genetic test? According to my results, I have many gene mutations which include mitochondria mutations. I am also trying to find out what I have exactly/ find a way to cure it but I believe that it is largely genetic.

    Why isn't CFS/ME just Adult-onset Mitochondrial Disease?

Have you tried those? Also, if you don't have mitochondrial disorder do you know what you have? Thank you!

ME/CFS Test? Can you raise your legs when lying down?

If you're interested you could get a 23andMe test (if you haven't already). It's pretty cheap and I find it comforting to gather as much info as I can. You might like it. :) You do have to find someone to interpret the results for you though as it is pretty complicated.

    Why isn't CFS/ME just Adult-onset Mitochondrial Disease?

Has anyone noticed stunted growth with your CFS? I have noticed that I have very thin bones and I have very little muscle mass such that my hips/ shoulder blades are sticking out of my body. I also have mitochondrial mutations as seen from my 23andMe test.

ME/CFS Test? Can you raise your legs when lying down?

it's quite mind boggling that you can't do it at all. My therapist recently mentioned that the lumbar (lower back) is connected to intestinal health, that's why I get backaches often and I usually get a slightly bloat in my small intestine (lower duodenum area) at the same time. But you say you...

ME/CFS Test? Can you raise your legs when lying down?

Do you have poor grip strength as well?

ME/CFS Test? Can you raise your legs when lying down?

Do you get aches in your lower back when sitting too? I can walk and I can lift my legs while lying down though it is tiring. I also find standing in the same position more tiring than walking due to my back and possibly my balance (which seems to be a concern in mito patients, bad balance)...

    Stunted Growth

Hmm that's interesting. What was your experience and how did your doctor come to the conclusion it was bacteria/ which kind of antibiotics to give you?

    Stunted Growth

Ah I see, antibiotics probably worsened my condition when I was young. :/

That's great, glad that you are better. May I know what he used to help you? Cheers

    Stunted Growth

It might be the same for me, I have mutations in my detox pathways, which might have caused the high fever and fits due to my body not being able to detox itself from the vaccine, which others probably could.

    Stunted Growth

Hmm, yea my gut flora seems to be horrible and I have multiple allergies which include quinoa, rice and potatoes and many more. I'm seeing a naturopathic doctor who has a plan for me regarding my genetic mutations. Did you see a CFS specialist and did it help you? Hmm, I have always felt that...

ME/CFS Test? Can you raise your legs when lying down?

Hey Lindberg, Thanks for the quick replies! May I ask how do you live around this (work/social/physical activity etc.)? Also, although I am not diagnosed, my Naturopathic Doctor who has just studied gene therapy/ epigenetics is going to put me on a programme in the future based on my symptoms...

    Stunted Growth

Hi, I have been suffering from CFS almost my whole life. I have really messed up genes as shown in my 23andMe report and I think the mutations were "activated" when I had a vaccine injury at 18 months old. It also shows mutations in my mitochondria. At 24 years old, I have very thin bones (my...

ME/CFS Test? Can you raise your legs when lying down?

Thanks for the reply! I do think that I have mitochondrial issues and my 23andMe test shows mitochondrial mutations as well. Is there a programme that he recommends for it or was it more like "experiment by yourself and find whatever works for you"? Thanks again. (:

ME/CFS Test? Can you raise your legs when lying down?

This is interesting. Did he tell you why he made that conclusion? Also, what did he recommend for mitochondrial dysfunction?
