We've been discussing this topic on the resistant starch thread. Initially, people were experimenting with resistant starch but rapidly tried lots of other prebiotics. Sometimes, people come a cropper. I'd like to know whether they get back to baseline and if so, how long that takes.

That is, I'm trying to assess how risky it is to try a range of prebiotics.
